The drawing paper, "HS Gaou," is suitable for watercolour and crayon. The cover features Penco's signature design with two-colour letterpress printing. The back cover is made of thick board, making it easy to draw even when holding the sketchbook in your hand.

The off-white drawing paper has a soft touch with a moderately textured surface. It absorbs well and dries quickly, making it ideal for watercolour. The texture is not too deep, and the surface is strong, making it resistant to fraying when using an eraser.

The lineup includes two types with different paper thicknesses, but the paper characteristics and grain are the same. Medium (121g/m²) has a standard drawing paper thickness, making it easy to use for coloured pencils, crayons, and pencil sketches. Heavy (157g/m²) is durable and resistant to tearing, with the added benefit of minimal warping when using wet paints.
